About Lynsee & Waggin’ Trails
Hi there! I’m Lynsee, a lifelong dog lover, outdoor enthusiast, and the founder of Waggin’ Trails. My own adventure buddies—Aspyn & Juniper—inspired me to build a service that feels like home, but with a side of excitement for every pup.
My Story
I’ve been sharing my life with dogs for as long as I can remember. From weekend camping trips in the beautiful Montana wilderness to cozy movie nights on the couch, I’ve always had a great dog by my side. In 2009, after rescuing an abandoned and shy pup who quickly blossomed on our outdoor adventures, I realized how powerful the combination of love, exercise, and nature can be - for both of us. After spending 13 amazing years with Trigger by my side, I sadly had to let him go. I then adopted Aspyn and Juniper in 2022, and their combined energy gave me an even bigger reason for adventure - that’s when Waggin’ Trails was born—to give every dog the chance to thrive, whether you’re at work, on vacation, or just need a break.

A Day in the Life
When your pup joins the crew, here’s what they can expect:

Adventure Time: Off-leash hikes outside Billings city limits, leashed neighborhood walks, or supervised play days in our fully fenced yard.
Home Away From Home: In-home boarding with a cozy setting, regular potty breaks, leashed walks, our homemade treats, and plenty of cuddles.
Homemade Treats: Small-batch pup treats I bake myself—low-calorie, natural-ingredients, energy-packed, and dog-approved!
Flexible Pickup/Drop-Off: Door-to-door service within a 10-mile radius of Billings, MT—because convenience matters.
Why I Do This
I believe every dog deserves a life full of play, enrichment, and genuine companionship. Whether it’s watching a timid rescue pup gain confidence in nature or seeing a senior dog’s tail wag again, these moments fuel my passion. Waggin’ Trails isn’t just a business—it’s a lifelong passion for me and the reason I believe I’m on this earth!

A Little About Me Off Duty
When I’m not hiking with pups or hosting them, you’ll find me:
Exploring, boating, fishing, hunting, or camping under the Big Sky.
Traveling somewhere new and taking way too many pictures.
Daydreaming, envisioning, creating, or planning something beautiful.

FAQs
-
Here’s how easy it is to book with Waggin’ Trails:
Schedule a complimentary Meet & Greet. We’ll spend a little time together—puppy sniffs included—to make sure we’re the perfect fit.
Complete a short intake form. I’ll send it right to your inbox so I can learn all about your pup’s needs and routines.
Pick your dates. Once I have your info, we’ll coordinate schedules and lock in your dog’s adventure.
And just like that, you’re all set—happy tails are on the way!
-
Absolutely—senior dogs are always welcome!
We tailor every adventure to your dog’s age and energy level, whether that means a shorter off-leash romp on gentle trails, or extra rest breaks on hikes, I will be with them every step of the way. During our Meet & Greet, we’ll chat about your pup’s needs—mobility, pace, or any medical considerations—so we can create the perfect plan. Our goal is to keep tails wagging at every age! -
We know not every pup loves mud and rain (or not every pet parent)—so if you’d rather avoid a soggy, muddy hike (and a post-hike bath!), just let me know and we’ll happily reschedule. Otherwise, we head out in most weather unless it’s dangerously hot (where I can’t keep the dogs cool) or bitterly cold. Your dog’s comfort and safety always come first!
-
We recommend booking at least one week ahead for weekday services, and two weeks during busy seasons (summer and holidays) to secure your pup’s spot. If you need a last-minute hike or stay, just ask—sometimes we can fit you in!
-
Please send along:
Food & feeding instructions (pre-measured or written instructions on amount and how often in labeled bags/containers)
Food Bowl
Medications with clear dosing directions
Favorite blanket, bed, or toy for comfort
Crate or crash pad if your dog uses one at home
This helps your dog feel safe and settled during their stay.

I welcome all breeds and ages! Every dog completes a free Meet & Greet so I can assess their energy level and social style. Whether you have a senior, a shy pup, or a spirited rescue, I’ll tailor their adventure to suit them perfectly.
Because safety comes first, we have a zero-tolerance policy for any aggressive behavior. This ensures a positive, secure experience for every pup in our care.
-
Absolutely. I’m certified in Pet CPR & First Aid, and happy to follow any feeding schedule or medication routine you provide. Just include written, clear instructions and properly labeled containers.
-
For hikes, I carry a dog-specific first-aid kit, rescue harness, and anti-venom supplies. I’ll contact you immediately (or another point of contact you have given me) if there is an emergency and, if needed, transport your pup to the nearest veterinarian.
In the event of a medical emergency while your dog is staying with me, here’s what happens:
Immediate First-Aid: I’ll assess the situation and administer any necessary first-aid.
Owner Notification: You’ll receive a call or text within minutes so you know exactly what’s happening.
Veterinary Care: If further treatment is needed, I’ll transport your dog to either your regular veterinary clinic or the nearest emergency animal hospital—whichever you prefer.
Cost Transparency: I’ll keep all receipts and records, then send them (along with any vet notes) directly to you for reimbursement.
Ongoing Updates: As soon as your dog is stable, I’ll update you again with their condition and any next steps recommended by the vet.
Post-Emergency Follow-Up: When you come to pick them up, we’ll review what happened, discuss any aftercare instructions, and make sure you have everything you need for their continued recovery.
Your dog’s safety and your peace of mind are my top priorities—always.
-
Of course! I’m happy to send real-time photos or texts so you can see your pup enjoying their adventure and rest easy knowing they’re in good hands.
-
Ensure all dogs are set up to eat separately from other dogs.
Require up-to-date vaccinations for all dogs
Require a waiver, emergency contact form, and your preferred veterinarian office and contact info
Adjust activities for extreme weather (shade, water breaks, rescheduling if necessary)
Each dog is tethered in our vehicle when being transported to and from hike location
-
While I’m not a dog trainer, I include enrichment games and basic obedience reinforcement during our hikes. Many dogs are enriched on the hikes due to scent work they get in the great outdoors. For specialized training, I can recommend trusted local professionals.
